Pet Food Workshop

Best Practices for Environmental Monitoring, Sanitation, and the Control of Salmonella in Wet and Dry Pet Food Manufacturing Facilities
The Food Safety Modernization Act of 2011 (FSMA) is the largest overhaul of food safety legislation in more than 70 years. With new directives come greater industry responsibilities. A critical component of any Food Safety Plan is to identify and minimize the potential for microbial contamination in the processing environment. This workshop will review the potential microbial risks in pet food processing for low moisture foods, raw, partially cooked and ready-to-eat type products. Risk management strategies, including the effective implementation of preventive controls will be presented.
