Chestnut Labs, a leading food safety solutions provider, is hosting “Basic Food Microbiology (M102) with lab” for its next food safety course. M102 is scheduled for July 25-26, 2017 at Chestnut Labs’ Springfield, Mo. location.
The course is designed for professionals in the food quality and production industries, including non-science majors, and introduces students to the basics about microorganisms. The 1.5-day course begins with a general overview of microorganisms and transitions into more specific content related to bacteria and pathogens that appear in food.
Basic Food Microbiology also includes an exercise for evaluating facility processes as potential points for increasing or decreasing the microbial load in various foods. Additionally, an extended lab exercise (quantitative testing) offers hands-on experience that takes learning to the next level. The educators for this course are Dr. Mary Bandu, Director of Technical Services for Chestnut Labs, and Matt Oltman, Lead Research Microbiologist.
The course will be held at Chestnut Labs’ headquarters in Springfield, Mo. Session one will begin at 8:30 a.m. on July 25. The course includes sessions during that afternoon and again on the following morning. The course will conclude at noon on July 26.
Base registration for the course is $395 per individual. Group pricing is also available by contacting Chestnut Labs at (417) 829-3673 or firstname.lastname@example.org. Complete registration information, including the course agenda is available at chestnutlabs.com/events.
